Parineeti Chopra and Siddharth Malhotra starrer, rom-com movie ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ released yesterday had a decent opening. The film made an opening box-office collection of 7.4 crore. Cine-goers are showing interest to watch the movie starring the Bollywood young brigade. The craze for the movie increased as the day progresses and it showed 10-70% increase in the occupancy rate.
‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ released ahead of Valentine’s Day is a perfect Valentine gift for the young stars. The leading stars of the film, Parineeti and Siddharth had left no stone unturned to promote the film in various TV shows. The film was highly promoted and also received good reviews from critics. It is expected that positive word of mouth will drive more audience to the theatre.
The multiplexes showed 40% occupancy while single theatres registered 30% occupancy on day one. Trade analysts were heartbroken as they have expected some more numbers from the movie.
Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh writes, “Hasee Toh Phasee is riding on critical acclaim and the business of films targeted at plexes, generally, gather momentum during the course of the day. Of course, the start has been slow, hence the film will need to grow steadfastly to gross good numbers over the weekend.”
As weekend begins today, the box-office number of ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ is expected to increase.
